Humanly 2019 - Barriers Beyond Migration
Barriers Beyond Migration addresses how immigration affects the mental health of racialized youth and how the system and cultural stigma makes it difficult for youth to seek help. Through subject matter expert interviews, literature review and fieldwork, a system map was designed that visualizes the barriers that immigrant youth face. An exhibit was also designed with interactive engagement pieces to highlight the complex issues that racialized immigrant youth go through, how the barriers interconnect, with the aim to start a conversation about providing appropriate support for youth.
